This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are looking for a CAD Design Team Manager to join our team. The role will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and available for immediate start.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Of a technical background with experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of various design applications.
  • Creative and innovative in their problem solving and product / process development.
  • Able to demonstrate high attention to detail.
  • Confident, assertive and proactive in their approach to work with a ‘can do’, flexible attitude.
  • Able to work effectively, both as part of a team and autonomously, consistently to high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Proficient in clear, written and verbal communication skills.
  • A highly skilled and experienced user of Solidworks and PDM.
  • A certified Solidworks Professional (CSWP), as a minimum.
  • Experienced in and able to use Autodesk Inventor (to a lesser degree than Solidworks is acceptable).
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English.
  • An experienced team leader or manager, with experience in building and leading design teams.

What will you do as a CAD Design Team Manager?

  • Creating a new CAD Design Team, including recruiting, and establishing working practices.
  • Managing team workload, meeting KPI’s, and reporting to other team managers across the company.
  • Driving solutions and efficiencies in order to improve drawing and design delivery.
  • Preparation of technical drawings using design application software.
  • Product design and development within all Design Engineering teams.
  • Preparation of detailed written work instructions for manufacture and installation of products.
  • Creation of new parts and bills of materials.
  • Global travel, either to AIS sites or customer sites.
  • Maintain and administer the company PDM file management system

What are we looking for in our CAD Design Team Manager?

  • High level of skill and experience with Solidworks and PDM (essential).
  • Good level of skill and experience with Autodesk Inventor (desirable).
  • Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment (essential).
  • Experience of leading or managing CAD design teams (essential).
  • Experience of working in the subsea industry, either through oil and gas, renewables, or marine (desirable).
  • Experience of designing with a variety of materials, including polymers, metals, rubbers (essential).

The successful candidate will be required to spend up to 4 weeks in the UK at the start of their employment as part of their induction.

Working hours:10am to 7pm (allows for a 4-hour UK crossover) Monday - Friday.
